About “House Our Heroes SA” 5k Run
The 3rd Annual House Our Heroes SA 5K Run, which will benefit ACG’s homeless veterans program, will be held on Saturday September 26, 2015 at the Wonderland of the Americas.
Alamo Community Group (ACG) provides affordable housing to working families and veterans in our community. The House Our Heroes Veterans Assistance Program provides stable housing, extensive supportive services to include outreach and case management, as well as temporary financial assistance to homeless veterans and veteran families at-risk of homelessness. ACG partners with local organizations such as the American G.I. Forum, the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System to reach veterans who need this assistance.

About Alamo Community Group
ACG is a private, nonprofit, 501c(3) organization that was founded in 1990 to serve families in San Antonio and Bexar County. Its mission is to develop, own and manage quality affordable housing in a community environment that promotes resident education, self-sufficiency, leadership and volunteerism through successful partnerships.
ACG currently owns and operates multifamily units at nine properties throughout the San Antonio and Bexar County area. The apartment communities owned by ACG are operated as non-traditional mutual housing: residents participate at the property and at the Board-level to make decisions that have an impact on their everyday lives.
At each community, ACG provides on-site educational and community-building programs through a dedicated Learning Center with Computer Technology Labs and a full-time professional resident coordinator.
